This Privacy Policy explains how AltSpot Capital LLC and its affiliates ("AltSpot," "we," "us") collect, use and share information about you when you visit thealtspot.com, join our waitlist, use the AltSpot Marketplace, AltSpot Terminal or Spot, or otherwise interact with us (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
01Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Contact details: name, email address and phone number.
- Waitlist details: your self-reported accreditation status, expected private market allocation, and newsletter preference.
- Account information: login credentials and profile details.
- Investor information: accreditation status and supporting documents, investment preferences, entity and tax details, and information needed for identity verification (KYC/AML).
- Payment and banking information needed to fund an investment, processed through our payment and banking partners.
- Your communications with us, including messages to Spot, our AI investor-relations assistant.
Information collected automatically. Device and browser data, IP address, pages viewed, links clicked, referral source and campaign parameters, and similar usage data, collected through cookies, local storage and comparable technologies. We also track email opens and clicks.
Information from others. Investment platforms and service providers we work with (for example, a platform you onboarded through), identity-verification providers, and people who refer or introduce you to us.
02How we use information
- To provide, operate and improve the Services.
- To verify identity and accreditation, and to meet our legal, regulatory and tax obligations.
- To process subscriptions, fund investments, and deliver reports and tax documents.
- To communicate with you, including about investment opportunities you are eligible to see, our newsletter, and updates to the Services.
- To power Spot and other features that answer your questions.
- To protect the Services, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms.
03Spot and AI features
Spot uses third-party AI model providers to generate responses. When you use Spot, your messages and the account context needed to answer them are sent to those providers to produce a response. Spot's responses are informational only and are not investment, legal or tax advice.
04How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that host, store, process or deliver the Services for us, including cloud hosting and databases, email delivery, newsletter publishing, social media scheduling, meeting transcription, AI model providers, payment and banking partners, identity and accreditation verification, and fund administration and tax preparation. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Investment vehicles and their administrators, as needed when you invest in an offering.
- Sponsors or deal leads, limited to what is needed for an investment you choose to make.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and auditors.
- Legal and regulatory authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Affiliates, who are required to honor this Policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
05Cookies and tracking
We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your waitlist status and preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them. Our Services do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
06Business transfers
If AltSpot reorganizes, including a transfer of its business or assets to an affiliate or successor entity, or is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
07Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is completely secure. We keep information as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, including to meet legal, tax and record-keeping requirements, which for investors can extend for years after an investment ends.
08Your choices and rights
- Marketing emails: unsubscribe using the link in any email, or contact us.
- Access, correction and deletion: you can ask to see, correct or delete your information. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may keep information we are legally required to retain.
- California residents: depending on applicable law, you may have rights to know what we collect, to delete or correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Contact us to make a request; we will verify your identity before responding.
09Eligibility
The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Investment offerings are available only to eligible investors, as described in our Terms of Use.
10Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or through the Services.
